Photos are from HIWC's bus trip to Rothenburg 23-24 February 2013. Once we arrived in Rothenburg we had our choice of walking a 6km, 11km or 21km in the morning, and in the afternoon an 11km walk through the Alstadt (old city). Pete, I and some friends walked the 11km in the morning, plus we got a chance to do a little geocaching along the way. Following a traditional German lunch (thanks for arranging it Will) some of us went on the city walk, some went shopping and some went geocaching, and some of us did a little of it all. In the evening a small group braved the cold temperature and went out with the Night Watchman for a tour of the Alstadt that really brought Rothenburg's history to life. The Watchman was very informative and extremely entertaining. Following breakfast the next morning we left for Creglingen where we had the option to walk the 10km permanent trail or visit a thimble museum. Will, Pete and I started the 10km but eventually veered off and up to search for local geocaches. (Loved the cache at the river!) After the walk and another great German meal, we headed for Schloss Weikersheim for a guided tour. What a beautiful castle! (So many beautiful castles, so little time left :(
Of course, we had to get one last cache before getting back on the bus and returning to Heidelberg. It was another outstanding HIWC trip.
